Americans Must Pull Together This Veteran’s Day

There comes a time in the life of every American to take stock of their lives and the American values we hold dear.  To stand up for what is right, honest and true.

Americans should be the example of faith, not fear, of hope not division.  WE must believe there is liberty, justice and freedom for all citizens of these United States.

Many Americans served and are serving in the United States military to ensure the rights, freedoms and privileges for All Americans, Asian, Black, Hispanic, Straight, Gay, Handicapped, Jew, Christian, Hindu, Muslim or Agnostic, we remember with humble gratitude our brave Americans. No Americans should be excluded from the freedoms and liberties our forefathers wrote in the Constitution.  No citizen of this great country should feel less than any other citizen. Who are we to ask any American to take a seat at the back of the bus?

I believe at the core of everyone in America is absolute perfection.  WE were not born to hate, we were not born to recognize others differently.  WE were born in perfect harmony, innocent, trusting, loving and caring.

Today the democratically elected leaders of the United States must extinguish the flames of fear and hate to ensure the American Dream and Equal Rights are enjoyed by all Americans.

It is time for all our leaders and every American to remind those who spew hate and fear towards others that the Bible our leaders swear upon demands love, kindness, compassion, and generosity.  This world will be a better place.

Mothers, fathers, grandmothers, grandfathers, sons, daughters, should remind those who teach hate is a burden we cannot bear. It is no longer honorable to hate, judge others,

I believe any minister, priest, rabbi or other religious leaders spewing hate about any President, or people or community as a marketing ploy, is in fact, out of fellowship with the very Creator they represent.  It’s not possible to preach hate, discrimination, and love at the same time.

We must ask ourselves why religious institutions raise more money for political purposes than they raise to fight hunger, poverty and homelessness.

I believe the time has come to stand up for what we know is right, what we know is true, for the continued healing and reuniting of humankind.

President Barack Obama stated “It’s time to stop the silliness.”  Now it the time to lead with clear minds and open hearts exampled by our forefathers.

Courage brings positive energy that ensures our country remains the Land of the Free and the Home of the Brave.  Freedom is at risk if freedom is not enjoyed by all.

“Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere.” Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

We have a great opportunity now on Veteran’s Day, to heal the wounds of political division, restore America to its greatness, to remove ourselves from the mire and negative propaganda that cause hurt and pain to so many.  I believe we can collectively stifle hate and fear and shake the conscientiousness of our country.

Let us pay tribute to the soldiers who fight in the plains of Afghanistan and the streets of Iraq, just as their forefathers fought on the sands of Tunisia, on the beaches of Normandy and then on the bridges over the Rhine.  Let this generation renew our support to better serve our shared values and fulfill the hopes and dreams of the day all our soldiers will return home.

In our families and workplaces and places of worship, let us celebrate men and women of integrity who work hard, treat people fairly, take responsibility and look out for others.  If these are the principles we live by in our families and neighborhoods, they should also be the principles that guide and govern our society.

As the Greek proverb says, why does anybody plant the seeds of a tree whose shade they will never see?  The answer is because they look to the future.

Let each of us remember there is a common bond that unites us as human beings across different beliefs, cultures and nationalities, races, sexual orientation and religion. This should be at the core of our convictions, the essence of America’s spirit and the heart of all faiths; working together for a common purpose.

It’s time to get this message right.  Who am I to judge another because of the color of their skin, the God they worship or not, the shape of their eyes, the size of their body, or gay men and women.

It is with a country united that America collectively moves forward together, to solve the challenges that face us.

WE have to work for it; making families work, jobs and peace requires brave souls.

Freedom belongs to everyone. We can make a difference; we can move this democracy forward.

“There are no Red states; there are no Blue states, just the United States of America. What binds us together is greater than what drives us apart.” – President Barack Obama
