Divorce, Teen Pregnancy, Porn Rates Highest in Red States
The New York Times recently published insightful comparative statistics on RED states and BLUE states and their ranking on divorce, teen birth rates and porn subscriptions. Interestingly enough, the RED states win! States that vote Democratic tend to have lower divorce rates, lower teen pregnancy rates and lower porn subscription rates. Does this mean Sarah Palin was right when she said the red states are the ‘pro-America’ parts of the country?Mike Stobbe with the Associated Press reports Mississippi now has the nation’s highest teen pregnancy rate, displacing Texas and New Mexico for that lamentable title, according to a new federal report recently released. Mississippi’s rate was more than 60 percent higher than the national average in 2006, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said. The teen pregnancy rate in Texas and New Mexico was more than 50 percent higher. (See chart below)
Ironic isn’t it? Those who vote for people to legislate morality cannot maintain those standards in their own lives. And the states preaching ‘family values’ have the highest divorce rate; the Bible belt leads the way! Also the RED states pay very little in taxes while BLUE states pay the highest.
I have always said that one person’s morals are another person’s sins. So now we know what actually defines morality for those who claim allegiance with the “moral majority”. It does strike me as a little odd that the folks who are professing to be in a position to lead the nation down the path of morality and virtue cannot keep their own houses in order, in light of the recent sexual scandals of the GOP.
Another interesting amusing fact is Utah is on TOP of the porn subscription list! With Mormons telling other Americans how they should live, after they spent some $40 million dollars fighting the Proposition 8 vote in California, they appear to be saying ‘do as I say, not as I do’. ? This is the mantra of the Republican Party and their leaders. Since the Mormon Church has basically abandoned polygamy does this mean they have multiple ‘viral wives?’
The natural equal state of equality and love between men and women is perverted in this country. The man becomes master, able to abuse his wife and/or children at will, verbally or physically. The wife is the slave, the conquered. Divorce is considered acceptable under any circumstances by evangelical churches, yet they dictate, spending millions of dollars trying to manipulate other Americans and families on a strict, authoritative platform.
Fear is used every step of the way to maintain this state. Fear of the violence, fear of the law, fear of the military, but above all, Fear of hell.
Some of the vilest hate spewed out in this country comes daily out of the mouths of sleaze balls like Rush Limbaugh, Glen Beck, Bill O’Reilly, Sean Hannity, Mike Savage and several other like invertebrates.
No longer able to give and take freely, no longer able to accept others or himself, Limbaugh desires control (as do most Republicans); an insatiable desire for power over himself, and over others. Control is the only thing that gives him pleasure. He controls Republicans at church. He controls them as a talk radio host. He controls his own country with a draconian iron first, he wishes to control other countries with physical violence. His voice resonates with many on the extreme far right, when in days gone by, were referred to as ‘skin-heads’ and the ‘KKK’.
With all the GOP/Republican immorality, one of the most annoying aspects is the blame never falls on them. It always falls on some pervasive liberal elements that forced them into sin, or, even worse, made what they were doing a wrong in the first place. Rush Limbaugh says that Mark Sanford cheated out of eschatological despair over the Antichrist Barack Obama ruining everything, while Mark Stein declares that the only reason anyone even cared that Mark Sanford ran out on his job for five days is because of big-government liberalism.
So, in case you’re keeping score, both Sanford’s infidelity and his abdication of his state duties are because of liberalism. Mark Sanford, to his credit, isn’t blaming it on liberals per se. He’s just declaring himself the King David of South Carolina:
It is not just that Republicans have moral failures, we all do. It is not even that Republicans set themselves up to fail spectacularly by single-mindedly elevating the very bugaboos in which they engage to the level of mortal sins. It is that once they fail, they both claim forgiveness from the same God that was supposed to consign them to damnation and claim that the moral culpability for their sins falls entirely on liberals. It creates a moral code that goes a step beyond hypocrisy to the active assignment of sin to everyone but the sinner. They fight against equality for gay Americans yet subscribe to the ‘Bible’ only when it is convenient for them.
Using the Republican logic, I wonder if I robbed a bank that I could blame Rush Limbaugh and he would be sent to jail. Of course I would not because I have a moral code that says that the things I do are my fault. Immoral and self righteous Republicans take no responsibility at all.
Truthfully, on some level I suspect, modern conservative morality is dysfunctional because it may not be morality at all; it is a proxy for constant, unremitting blame and hatemongering, irrespective of logic, consistency or facts.
The New York Times investigation is very revealing, so I suggest Republicans take care of the morality in their RED states and finally make a contribution to the American family especially since sexual transmitted diseases are rampant in their RED states:
- Gonorrhea: Seven out of the top ten states (Mississippi, S. Carolina, Alabama, Louisiana, Georgia, Tennessee and Missouri) are RED.
- Chlamydia: Six out of the top ten states (Alaska, Mississippi, S. Carolina, Alabama, Georgia and Tennessee) are RED.
- Syphilis: Five out of the top ten states (Louisiana, Alabama, Georgia, Texas and Tennessee) are RED.
Republicans should stop obstructing the leaders who are at least trying to make a difference for citizens of this great country.

Hi, this is a great article, I am going to twitter this one for you.
This is something similar to what I have been working on recently, but in the form of a real voter guide, LOL.
Your work is always great!
