Republicans Subversive Plan to Return America to a Monarchy

US_UK_Monarch_Flag.pngAmerica is subversively being turned into a country much like immigrants opposed in coming to the ‘new world’.   Republicans are attempting to, with much success, establish two classes of people, the elite, much like monarchies of England, and the peasants who serve at the pleasure of the powerful who own them. 

A monarchy is a form of government in which all political power is absolutely or nominally lodged with an individual or individuals.

There are many obvious examples of the obliteration of America’s Middle Class and yes it is mostly about income, profits, money, corporate control, and activist Supreme Court judges, Christian Right, the elimination of rights and freedoms and religious bigotry.Money and Profits

Much of the genesis began under Ronald Reagan who halted anti-trust law enforcement which initiated a massive merging of monopolies or oligopolies that could price-fix and it allowed larger banks to acquire others banks at a frenzied pace until by the 21st century they were “too big to fail.”

Income gains for the wealthiest have outpaced all other groups since 1979, growing more than 281%!   As PERRspectives points out,

“Between 1979 and 2007, the yawning chasm separating the after-tax income of the richest 1 percent of Americans from the middle and poorest fifths of the country more than tripled. But while the Bush recession which began in December 2007 temporarily halted the stratospheric advance of the wealthy, the rich, and the rich alone, have largely recovered their losses. Which means that the record level of income inequality in America is growing once again.”

According to Michael Snyder of the Business Insider:

  • 61 percent of Americans “always or usually” live paycheck to paycheck, which was up from 49 percent in 2008 and 43 percent in 2007.
  • 66 percent of the income growth between 2001 and 2007 went to the top 1 percent of all Americans.
  • Over 1.4 million Americans filed for personal bankruptcy in 2009, which represented a 32 percent increase over 2008.
  • The bottom 50 percent of income earners in the United States now collectively own less than 1 percent of the nation’s wealth.
  • In America today, the average time needed to find a job has risen to a record 35.2 weeks.
  • More than 40 percent of Americans who actually are employed are now working in service jobs, which are often very low paying.
  • Despite the financial crisis, the number of millionaires in the United States rose a whopping 16 percent to 7.8 million in 2009.

There was no recession for Americans top 2% of wealthy Americans even though it was Wall Street and the Republican Party who brought America to its knees with corporate greed and failed Republican economic policies. 

From the 1930s until the 1980s FDR’s “New Deal” provided a stable and sensible regulatory regime for banks and the financial sector. This was systematically torn down by the Republican Party.

Thus, America has witnessed the largest transfer of wealth from the middle-class and the poor to the rich in the history of the world thanks to Republican policies and their refusal to use government to protect the people from the Wall Street Corporate predators.  Even the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities research demonstrates income for the rich has tripled in recent years.

Corporate Control

Republicans have been champions for protecting tax breaks for CEOs who ship jobs overseas, taking jobs away from Americans and tax dollars from the U.S. Treasury.

As one single example, in May 2010, the House passed the American Jobs and Closing Tax Loopholes Act (House amendment to Senate amendment to HR 4213) to help create or save more than a million American jobs by restoring credit to small businesses, extending tax incentives for American R&D and energy, rebuilding American infrastructure, expanding summer jobs for young people, and providing tax relief for middle class American families.  To fund this important legislation for Middle America, the bill closed tax loopholes by preventing corporations from shipping jobs overseas & sticking American taxpayers with the bill, making Wall Street investment fund billionaires pay a fair tax on their income and making the oil industry pay to ensure sufficient funds to clean up the Gulf of Mexico oil spill.  All Republicans voted against this bill.  To be clear, Republicans voted against and defeated an amendment to strip Big Oil of its $35 billion in subsidies.

The U.S. Constitution, Article I Section VIII

“The Congress shall have power to lay and collect Taxes, Duties, Imposts and Excises, to pay the Debts and provide for the common Defence and general Welfare of the United States; but all Duties, Imposts and Excises shall be uniform throughout the United States…”

In July 2010, ALL Republicans in the House voted against a bill that would aid 9/11 responders who suffer from health problems. Why? Because Republicans did not want to pay for the bill by closing “a tax loophole on foreign companies with U.S. subsidiaries” — “creates a massive new entitlement program.” 

Income

Another example of the Republican Party systematically destroying America’s Middle Class is their decades-long opposition to increasing the minimum wage.  Even today, Republicans want to reduce the minimum wage which not only hurts families and children, it is yet another move to increase the income gap between the rich and the peasant class they are seeking.

Republicans have long demonized unions because Republicans do not want the American worker to have benefits, higher wages, pensions or health care, even as top management pay has skyrocketed from 20 to 500 times what average workers receives.  One clear example was the Senate Republicans who railed against helping America’s auto industry, their position “Let Us Destroy UAW, Or We’ll Destroy the Economy.”  And Republicans have been successful in some respects because in 1979 the UAW had 1.5 million members, today the number of employees is down to only 500,000.                                                                                                      

America’s meatpacking industry, during the 1960’s and 1970’s paid employees more than $20 an hour thanks to labor unions, but in the 1980’s, with the Republican engineering of the elimination of anti-trust laws; meatpacking companies moved to rural areas and quickly consolidated; which reduced wages, (some as low as $5.00 per hour), busted unions and created only 4 major meatpacking plants in the U.S.  These Republican owned companies began to bus in illegal immigrants from Mexico to replace American workers.   Although these companies are rarely subjected to federal immigration laws, their workers are.  Then there was the Georgia Company who lost its illegal immigrants and the state allowed Pilgrim’s Pride, Butterball and Tyson Chicken to use convicted felons to work in their plants!  So much for Republican job creation, as they continue to whine that illegal immigrants are taking jobs from American workers, they consistently oppose fair pay for American workers.

Republicans have lied for decades in selling they are ‘fiscally conservative’. They set record pork barrel spending under George W Bush, and robbed the U.S. Treasury by giving massive tax breaks to America’s wealthy.  With the Bush Tax Cuts about to expire, Republicans who opposed …. Support the continuation of the unfunded $700 billion tax break, adding this debt to the record setting deficit they created and passing this on to future generations stating “there is no need to pay for the $700 billion in lost revenue”.  The reality is these Republican tax cuts for the wealthy will cost $830 billion over the next ten years and the Republicans and further establish the Republican Monarchy they are seeking. Republicans today are simply the other big-government party — just as capable of squandering public funds.

Of course Republicans have a plan to have poor and middle class Americans pay for the tax cuts for America’s wealthy.  Even though Social Security does not add one dime to the deficit, Republicans want to raise the Social Security retirement age to 70, making families work long past the retirement years like peasants working for their masters and they want to privatize Social Security, so Wall Street and Corporate America can make millions more off the backs of taxpayers.  Social Security belongs to taxpaying Americans, the people who pay into it every day of our working lives, and it should not be cut to pay off yet another deficit created by the Republican Party for Corporate America.

Activist Supreme Court

Republican Supreme Court activist judges John Roberts, Samuel Alito, Antonin Scalia, Clarence Thomas and Anthony Kennedy recently over-turned a decade’s long Supreme Court ruling in Citizens United vs. Federal Elections Commission, by ruling Corporations are People Too, which is a major victory for big oil, Wall Street banks, health insurance companies and the other powerful interests that marshal their power every day in Washington to drown out the voices of everyday Americans.  This is another step closer to establish a ruling Republican monarchy.

Christian Right

Ironically, Republicans and their Tea Bag followers continuously spout American was built on Christian principles; even though the signers of the Declaration of Independence consistently warned and railed against religion in politics.  These same right wingers proclaim immigrants fled England to seek freedom of religion, yet it is the exact same populous who has now leads the pack in discriminating against the Muslim religion and framing all Muslims as enemies to America.  Republicans want to be in charge of what religions are ‘acceptable’ and believe the first amendment of the U.S. Constitution is merely a suggestion, not the law.  

The religious right bigotry group, the American Family Association, has now opposed freedom of religion in America

The Republican, white, conservative, racially biased, religious right, has embraced a theology that unsurprisingly creates their God in their own image; a white skinned Jesus, wrapped in a flag, carrying a cross, and packing heat.  They have re-written the Bible many times adding new words and new meaning to further their agenda to control low and un-educated voters.  

The remaking of ‘Christianity’ by Republicans is a slightly watered down version of white Christian nationalism, and a not so distant cousin to the White Citizens Council or the Ku Klux Klan. It is the sentiments, the desires, and the anger they which they use to manipulate their followers without all the messy honesty. It provides them with what they think is a cloak of credibility for their otherwise distasteful prejudices; sheltering them from political backlash as well as personal admission.

Republican George Grant, former executive director of D. James Kennedy’s Coral Ridge Ministries, articulated the conservative agenda for ‘white’ Americans best:

“Christians have an obligation, a mandate, a commission, a holy responsibility to reclaim the land for Jesus Christ — to have dominion in civil structures, just as in every other aspect of life and godliness.
     But it is dominion we are after. Not just a voice.
     It is dominion we are after. Not just influence.
     It is dominion we are after. Not just equal time.
     It is dominion we are after.
     World conquest.”

This is not a Christianity of love and charity designed for personal enlightenment and growth. This is a dogmatic Christianity of White Nationalism to be imposed on others, incorporating politics into religion and vice-versa. These ingrates call themselves ‘Real Americans’, to the exclusion of all the ‘Fake Americans’ that do not look, act, and believe as they do. This is the evidence of Republican dominion over all Americans.

Religious Bigotry

It is this same pseudo ‘Christian’ religion that has been used for centuries by white Republicans who attempted to use the Bible to determine U.S. Law, fighting against slaves right to legally marry, fighting against interracial marriage, fighting against voting rights for women and Blacks and fighting against equality under the law for gay Americans.  The Republican agenda has been so transparent for decades yet low educated, non-thinking people simply salute their agenda as easily as Germans saluted Hitler, with no consideration for the U.S. Constitution of the laws of the land.  Republicans want to make America into their own white image, to the detriment, destruction and even death of U.S. citizens.

Elimination of Americans’ Rights

Republicans and their Tea Bag supporters irrationally demand America return to the ‘Constitution’ but they turn a blind eye to the dismantling of the rights and freedoms guaranteed under that Constitution with spying, wiretapping and invading the privacy of Americans under the Patriot Act and FISA.  They boldly want to start modifying the 14th Amendment of the U.S. Constitution, (the law which guaranteed Black Americans their citizenship), to further their agenda for white America, proposing revising portions of that document in order to enact more discrimination on minorities.  

The 14th Amendment

Section 1 – All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside. No State shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges of immunities of citizens of the United States; nor shall any State deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law, nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws.

Summary

If Americans do not educate themselves and stand against the subversive plan by Republicans, the United States as we know it, will be reduce Americans to become slaves and peasants for the corporate fascist monarchy, losing their dignity of being not only free Americans, but human beings.  Our ingenuity and our skill will be reduced to serving only the needs of the masters who control our lives, our banks, our health care, our military and Wall Street, as it was in England before immigrants came to this country.

The Republican owners of this country, the wealthy business interest, are making make all the decisions.  Republicans politicians are owned, they have been bought and paid for along with activist conservative judges, with bribes from Wall Street, Corporate America and their lobbyists; corporate American owns and controls all the media in the U.S. and what ‘news’ they want Americans to hear and believe.  Republicans own 90% of the media, they do not want well informed citizens capable of thinking on their own, which can be easily witnessed from those passive sheep who watch FOX News being told who and what to believe, whose majority holder is a Muslim Prince from Saudi Arabia.

Republicans want more for themselves and less for working families.  They use the U.S. Treasury as their own personal credit cards, massively accumulating debt in the last decade and happily placing it on the backs of the taxpaying public. They want Americans’ social security, they want obedient workers, and obedient Americans who keep their mouths shut unless they are told what to complain about.

Republicans want lower pay for U.S. citizens, longer hours, reduced benefits, elimination of overtime, reduced minimum wages, and the elimination of unions.  The American Democracy is rigged; it began 30 years ago with Ronald Reagan.

Republicans do not care about Americans, or jobs, or heath care or equality; they do not care about our families, they do not care about the future of our kids; they only care about what they can get for themselves.

Where are the masses of common humanity for American workers and families who will stand against the Republican agenda of returning America to a monarchy?
